LENT COURSES

Lent discipleship course: Heart for Mission Together we take a fresh look at mission in a five part course from our global mission agency USPG. Each session will focus on one of the ‘Five Marks of Mission’, with bible study, space to reflect on mission in our own context and develop fresh perspectives in looking at how the Church of the Province of Myanmar understands and lives out mission. In person: Thursday 6, 13, 20, 27 March & 3 April, 11am-12 noon at St Bartholomew’s Church. Online: Tuesday 11, 18, 25 March, 1 & 8 April 7pm-8pm (link open from 6.45pm): register at info@easthamparish.org.uk  ; request your free course booklet now (info@easthamparish.org.uk  or on or on 020 8470 0011). This course is offered by East Ham Mission and Ministry Partnership (Holy Trinity Parish, St George's East Hamn, St Paul's East Ham and St Martin's Plaistow.


Confirmation and Baptism preparation for Adults Starting in Lent we will be reading Being Christian by Rowan Williams. There will be a Tuesday afternoon slot (starting 11th March 3.30pm at St Bart's) and an evening slot (starting 13th March 7pm at St Mary’s Vicarage): choose whichever is most convenient for you. Details of Baptism/Confirmation date to follow. Lent 2025

 

Lent begins on Wednesday 5th March 2025 with special Ash Wednesday services in our churches to which you are most welcome. If you are new to faith you might be interested in our Adult Confirmation and Baptism course starting this Lent. If you are going a bit deeper and ready for some Bible study and reflection on Mission, join our Heart for Mission course in person or online, in co-operation with neighbouring churches in our local Ministry and Mission Partnership. 

Mothering Sunday is on 30 March - all are invited to St Mary Magdalane for this important family occasion. Then Palm Sunday on 13 April starts the great annual celebration of Holy Week and Easter
