Coronavirus The Archbishops of Canterbury and York have written to all clergy setting out updated guidance in relation to Coronavirus (COVID-19). You can read their letter here. This updated guidance advises that all priests should:
· Offer Communion in one kind only to all communicants i.e. the consecrated bread/wafer/host, with the priest alone taking the wine;
·suspend handshaking or other direct physical contact during the sharing of the peace;
·suspend direct physical contact as part of a blessing or ‘laying on of hands’
St Mary’s TODAY our first communion classes continue in the Parish Room after this morning’s service during coffee and is Signs of belonging, 22/3 ‘Do this in remembrance of me’/food of belonging, 29/3 Prayer, 5/4 Rehearsal in Church, 12/4 First Communion on Easter Sunday.
Lent at St Mary’s During Lent we will be reflecting on Lenten hymns at St Mary’s – today: Abide with me, Lent 4/Mothering Sunday: Love Divine, Lent 5: The Old Rugged Cross.

Easter Eggs we are again collecting Easter Eggs for Hope 4 Newham. Collection point in St Bart’s café.
Lent Course 2020 “Being Thankful and Saying Sorry” reflections on the general thanksgiving and general confession from the book of Common Prayer continues on Wednesdays during Lent at 2pm Pilgrims Way and 7pm St Mary’s Magdalene.
Annual Meeting 2020 Please check that you are on the electoral roll which is posted at the back of church which enables you to vote at the annual meetings and to stand for office.
VE day celebration Tickets are now available from the Café for a celebration on Thursday 7th May - £10.
Walsingham this year we are again running a coach to the National Pilgrimage at Walsingham on Monday 25th May 2020. The cost is £20 adult and £5 for under 16’s. Please see signup sheet at the back of Church.
East Ham MMU The next step is forming “an MMU council”. This will consist of both Church Wardens and one clergy person from each of the 6 Churches plus 3 lay representatives from each Church who we will elect at the APCM. The first meeting of this council will be on Tuesday 30 June at 7.30pm at St George’s East Ham.
