We have had heard two pieces of sad news this week.
Firstly, Pat Sommerville died on Friday 2nd August after a relatively short illness. I knew Pat as the longtime manager of Fellowship House Nursery based at St.Barts. She was also very active with the Rainbows, Brownies and Guides in the Church for many years. She retired recently but remained active within the community. Pat was lovely person always smiling and lived locally. Please keep her husband Colin and their children Paul, Jane and Mark in your prayers as they prepare for her funeral on Thursday 15th August. The family have asked for donations to Leukemia UK rather than flowers – either directly via https://www.justgiving.com/Pat-Sommerville?utm or to the Parish Office.
Secondly, Brenda Januszewski husband Kaz is seriously ill in hospital after a heart attack and operation that didn't go well. Brenda retired from being Parish Administrator based in St Bart’s just over two years ago and so if we could keep Brenda and their son Stefan in your prayers at this very difficult time.
