With Christian Aid:  Pray for peace in South Sudan. 9 July marks the eighth anniversary of South Sudan independence, but the country is in the sixth year of conflict.

Thank you all for joining me for my first Mass last Sunday at St Mary’s, it was a very special day. I have been overwhelmed with cards, presents and good wishes, you have all been very kind and generous. Thank you again and God bless you all. John x

Open Prayers  We will be holding a short period of open prayers after the service today at Bart’s.  All are welcome but if you cannot be there and have a prayer request please let Shirley know.

Nicola’s Farewell After 10 years in Newham our Methodist friend and colleague Nicola Vidamour is moving to a new appointment in Milton Keynes this summer.  We are all invited to Nicola’s leaving service on Sunday 21 July at 6pm at Pilgrims Way Church.  This will be the evening service at the end of St Mary’s Patronal festivities.

St Mary’s DCC we discussed the possible renovation of the organ, if anyone wants any further information about this, please see a member of the DCC.

St Bart’s DCC Meeting that was scheduled for today has been postponed to next Sunday 14th July at 11.45 in the Luke Room.

Course in Christian Studies there are a number of taster evenings throughout the Diocese in June and July please see the poster at the back of church or contact the office for further details.

Bishop of Barking’s Study Day on Tuesday 9 July 2019 has been cancelled.

Richard House Children's Hospice Summer Fair Saturday 13th July, 12-4pm Admission 50p adults, children free. Music, dancing and fun; Face paints & circus tricks; tea and cakes with "The Queen"; Great raffle and tombola prizes Richard House Drive, Beckton E16 3RG

Deanery Confirmation at St Bart’s on Sunday 14th July at 7pm. We have three confirmation candidates from the parish – further details to follow.

If ye Love me - Choral Music for a Summer’s Evening on Saturday 20th July at 7.30pm at St Mary’s.  The Friends’ Musick chamber choir directed by Jordan Theis will be performing.  Tickets are £5 each and are available from the Parish Office or June at St Mary’s.

St Bart’s DCC is 14 July 2019 at 11.45 in the Luke Room

St Edmund’s DCC is TBA.
