In the Diocese:  The Deanery of Waltham Forest Area Dean: Andrew Trenier, Vevet Deer, Gary Scott (Chigwell School).

In the Anglican Communion: The Dioceses of Multan (Pakistan), Yirol (South Sudan), and Ikeduru (Nigeria)

With Christian Aid:  the communities’ Christian Aid partners who have experienced setbacks in their work.

In the world: for an end to sectarian violence in all its forms.

Baptism Today at St Mary’s we welcome the family and friends of Storm Carlos-Ray for her baptism.  Please keep her and her family in your prayers on this special day.

Norman Lipman When Quintin visited Norman last week, he was a bit better and is now starting to eat again.  Please keep Norman in your prayers.

Marion Foote Quintin visited this week and Marion has had a fall and is in bed.  Please keep Marion and Ray in your prayers.

Rev’d Richard Bentley East Ham Team Rector 1988-1997

Has died after a long illness, his family were with him.  There will be a card to sign at Bart’s for those who knew him, or see Shirley for Penny’s address.

APCM Many thanks to all who attended the meeting last week and to all who enjoyed a very pleasant lunch at the Denmark Arms afterwards.

Café News This Tuesday is our film afternoon.  At 1.30pm, we will be showing Hidden Figures (it tells the incredible untold story of 3 brilliant African-American women working at NASA and their role in the Space Race) – All are welcome

Visitation Service This year will be at 7.30pm on Wednesday 22nd May at All Saints Woodford Wells.  Church wardens are obliged to attend, it is good if PCC and DCC members attend and everyone is welcome.  There will be no Eucharist at St Mary’s on that evening.

National Pilgrimage at Walsingham There are two pick-up points for the coach at Newham College, High Street South at 7.30am and St Edmund’s Katherine Road at 7.45am.  We leave Walsingham at 5pm to arrive back at around 6.30-7pm.  The cost of the trip is £20 per person. Please put your name on the list at the back of church if you wish to attend – including the pick-up point you will join the coach. 

Parish Tea Dance. Saturday 15th June 3-5pm at St Mary’s in memory of Gillian Mayer. All proceeds to Christian Aid. Tickets are now available from Shirley (St Bart’s) Ed (St Ed’s) and Claudette (St Mary’s) or the Parish Office.

St Bart’s DCC is 12 May 2019 at 11.45 in the Luke Room

St Edmund’s DCC is 6 June at 7.30pm.

Next PCC meeting is Tuesday 21 May at 7.30pm at St Edmund’s
