In Our Prayers:

In the Diocese: Romford (St Alban) Roderick Hingley. Romford (St Augustine of Canterbury) Martin Howse.

In the Anglican Communion: The Dioceses of Maseno South (Kenya), Uyo (Nigeria), and Hong Kong Island (Hong Kong)

In the world: for all those who have been killed and injured during the shootings in the New Zealand Mosque.

With Christian Aid: Pray that we might renew our commitment to do all we can to bring a big shift to a dependence on fossil fuels.

In the Parish: those who live in White Horse Road, Whitefield Road, Whittaker Road.

The sick and suffering: Immediate need: Isla, Rochelle Stephens.

Anita Skerritt Anita’s funeral will be Friday 22 March 2019 at 11.00 am at All Saints Church, Goodmayes Lane, Essex, IG3 9SJ followed by a cremation at The City of London Cemetery and Crematorium. 

NEXT SUNDAY is a joint service at Pilgrims Way Methodist and Congregational Church 10.30am.  All are welcome.

New Electoral Roll A reminder that the electoral roll closes on 31st March and next Sunday is a joint service at Pilgrims Way.  Please ensure that your completed forms are returned either to your Electoral Roll Officer or the parish office on or before 31st March.

School Visits We still have visits on 19, 20 and 25 March at 1.30pm.  If you would like to be involved with these visits please speak to Rev Sue.

Open Prayers We will be holding a short period of open prayers after the service TODAY at Bart’s in the Chapel. All are welcome. If you cannot be there and have a prayer request please let Molara or Shirley know.

Café News On Tuesday in the café this week will be showing Bohemian Rhapsody @ 1.00pm.  All are welcome.

‘Pray Your Way During Lent’- continues at St. Bart’s East Ham every Tuesday to 9 April at 7.30pm.  All welcome.

Bible Study Our next bible study will be on Monday 29 April at Bart’s at 2pm.

Hope 4 Newham are appealing for Easter Eggs to give to the homeless.  Their aim is to collect 110 eggs (this is how many hot portions of food they’re serving of an evening).  If you wish to donate an egg, there is a drop off point in the café.

Lent 2019 The lent course this year will be on Mission.  Please note that during Lent St Bart’s Thursday Eucharist will be at 12.15 with silent prayer from 12 noon for those who desire it.  We will also be running preparation for first communion at St Mary’s – speak to John King – and confirmation preparation at St Bart’s – speak to Rev Sue. 

Congregational Questionnaire As part of a year of reflection on our Christian calling in this parish, you will have received a simple questionnaire to complete.  Please return completed questionnaires to the plastic wallet at the back of church or hand into the Parish office during this week.

Away Day we are planning the first of a number of Parish Away Days to reflect on priorities in mission for this parish on Saturday 30 March 2019 at 10am to 1pm at the House of the Divine Compassion, 42 Balaam Street, E13 8AQ.  Please add your name to the list at back of church if you intend to come.  Please bring a packed lunch, drinks will be provided.

Save the date

Once again, we will be organizing a coach to go along to the National Pilgrimage at Walsingham on Monday 27th May. 

Tea Dance to raise funds for Christian Aid on Saturday 15th June 3-5pm in the hall at St Mary’s – more details to follow.

St Bart’s DCC is 10 March 2019 at 11.45 in the Luke Room

St Edmund’s DCC is tba.

Next PCC meeting is Tuesday 26 February 2019 at 7.30pm at St Mary’s
