The ministry team have discussed a way forward and a proposal will be brought to the next PCC to do this slightly differently in the future.

Parish Birthdays – Happy Birthday to Linda Gillooly

Curate 2019: I am delighted to be able to announce that we will have a full time stipendiary curate serving his title (training) post with us from September 2019.  Marco Lopes is currently training on St Mellitus, is married to Mary-Ann with 2 children, Maria (16) and Rafael (13).  I will be Marco’s Training Incumbent, and he will live with his family in St Martin’s Vicarage.  Full biography next week.  Please keep Marco and his family in your prayers as he prepares for ordination.  Rev Sue.

New Electoral Roll 2019 is a new electoral roll year – please see insert for details and speak to your Electoral Roll officer, warden or Rev Sue if you have any queries.

Leading Intercessions @ Barts - training for all those who lead intercessions in church, or would like to start, are next Sunday immediately after the service. Please make an effort to attend if you do lead intercessions - you are especially welcome if you are just thinking about it!

School Visits We have a HUGE number of schools visiting Bart’s over the next few months and would really appreciate help with this.  If you would like to be involved with these visits please speak to Rev Sue.

Hope 4 Newham are appealing for Easter Eggs to give to the homeless.  Their aim is to collect 110 eggs (this is how many hot portions of food they’re serving of an evening).  If you wish to donate an egg, there is a drop off point in the café.  Many thanks.

World Day of Prayer – Friday 1st March 2019 at 11am

We will be hosting this years World Day Of Prayer – A woman led, global, ecumenical movement at St Bart’s.  The service will last for approx. 1 hour and will be followed by coffee and biscuits.  All are welcome.

Calling all seniors ! A course of five sessions exploring evangelism by seniors – Fridays from 15th March to 12th April from 12 noon to 2.3pm with a free light lunch at St Mark’s Church, Beckton.  All welcome.

St Bart’s Table Top Sale At the final count, we raised an amazing £473 at the table top sale on Wednesday 13th Feb.  Full details of where the money is to be used will follow shortly.

Newham Council East Ham Community Hub

Anna Yusuf, the Senior Officer for East Ham Community Hub will be at Bart’s Café on Thursday 28th February at 11.15am to tell us some potential plans for the area and listen to our ideas and questions.  Everyone Welcome.

Barking Area Vocations day for 2019 will take place on Saturday 2nd March at St Mary's Loughton from 9am -2pm.  All are welcome. 

Gillian Mayer The Thanksgiving Service for Gillian (she is being cremated privately, without ceremony) will be held at Pilgrims Way Church, E6 1HW on Saturday 2nd March at 10:30am. All welcome.

Joint Service at Pilgrims Way Methodist and Congregational Church is on 24th March at 10.30am.  All are welcome.

Lent 2019 The lent course this year will be on Mission.  We will also be running preparation for first communion at St Mary’s – speak to John King – and confirmation preparation at St Bart’s – speak to Rev Sue. 

Save the date Once again, we will be organizing a coach to go along to the National Pilgrimage at Walsingham on Monday 27th May.
