The PCC and ministry team will be reflecting in the New Year on the most appropriate way to pray for the sick and this may result in some changes.

Those who have died: James Allum and Gillian Mayer (Gillian died on Monday morning.  Known to many in East Ham at Pilgrim’s Way and Bart’s church and Café and through her work with the Barnabas Band, Friends of the Earth and others), Bibowei Ebitimi Samuel Tarigha may they rest in peace and rise in glory

Parish Birthdays – Happy Birthday to Damian Sutton & Sue Stinson

Many thanks to all who attended the Burns Night Supper at St Bart’s on 25th January.  A good time was had by all !  We made a profit of just over £500, 10% of this will be donated to Hope 4 Newham and CYANA and the balance will be used to purchase a tablet for use in the café and some new sound equipment for use at café events.

St Mary’s today we welcome Emma Maria Vosylius along with her family and friends to her baptism.  Please keep Emma and her family in your prayers at this special time.

Calling all seniors ! A course of five sessions exploring evangelism by seniors – Fridays from 15th March to 12th April from 12 noon to 2.3pm with a free light lunch at St Mark’s Church, Beckton.  All welcome.

Table Top Sale Wednesday 13th February, we’ll be having a table top sale in the café.  If you have been having a post-Christmas sort out of your cupboards and have any unwanted Christmas gifts we’d be happy to accept any donations towards the sale ! 

Bonny Downs - In the café we have been collecting toiletries for the NewWay project as they lost all of their stock over Christmas.  We’re pleased to advise that they are now fully stocked again – thanks to all who donated your help is very much appreciated.

Hope 4 Newham We have been approached by a local organization, Hope 4 Newham who set up in Stratford Shopping Centre on a Tuesday evening to feed and help the homeless. They are in need of the following items: men's clothing (jumpers, tee shirts, track suit bottoms/jeans, hoodies, jackets, coats, socks, gloves, scarves and hats. They also take sleeping bags, yoga type mats, toiletries and cakes/biscuits and well as monetary donations. There is a collection point in the café should you have any items you’d like to donate.

Next Bible Study – Trying Mondays!

As Wednesday is difficult for some of our regulars, we are planning our next Bible Study at Bart’s on Monday 11th February at 2pm. Everyone welcome.  We are working our way through Acts at the moment, but are always happy to consider other suggestions.

Joint Service On Sunday 24th February we’ll be having a joint service with our friends at Pilgrims Way Methodist and Congregational Church at 10.30am.  All welcome.

Barking Area School for Disciples - There will be three study series and a Quiet Day running at separate locations in Spring 2019 - Looking at St Mark on 7, 14, 21, 28 February 7.30-9.00pm at St John’s Church, The Broadway, London E15 1NG.  To book a place please contact Hillary Henry at : This email address is being protected from spambots. Lent 2019 The lent course this year will be on Mission.  We will also be running preparation for first communion at St Mary’s – speak to John King – and confirmation preparation at St Bart’s – speak to Rev Sue.  Further details to follow shortly.
