In Our Prayers:

In the Diocese: Lambourne (St Mary & All Saints) w Abridge (Holy Trinity) and Stapleford Abbots (St Mary Vn) Roger Gayler.

In the world: for the Rohingya refugees facing an uncertain future.

With Christian Aid: Pray for Christian Aid partners helping refugees in Myanmar and Bangladesh after the recent upsurge in violence. Pray for peace to be restored.

In the Parish: those who live in Charlemont Road, Charles Road and Chester Road.

Parish Birthdays – Happy Birthday to Cheryl Hayes and Chrissie Bence

St Bart’s is in need of people willing to undertake Sunday and possibly week day sacristan duties.  On Sundays this entails arriving by 9.15 at the latest and setting up for the Eucharist.  Full training will be given.

Week of Prayer for Christian Unity and we are pleased to welcome Matthew Porter, Director of Transform Newham to preach at St Bart’s this morning. 

St Mary’s we welcome Nicola Vidamour longtime friend from the Methodist Church to celebrate Eucharist with us today. Quintin and Nicola are going to leave immediately after communion to go to High Street South Methodist church.

First Communion at St Mary’s there have been a number of expressions of interest we will have a meeting after church on 4th February to agree the details.  If you know of anyone interested, please ask them to come along.

Small (26”) flat screen digital TV in good working order needs a home – please contact the Parish Office.

St Barts Training for intercessors and altar servers has been postponed.  Watch this space for new dates.

Rectory Party will be on Friday 2nd February at 7.30pm.  All are welcome, but please let the Parish Office know if you’re coming.

Study Day at St Bart’s on 15th February Dr Frederic Nye, former Director of Medicine, Aintree University Hospital Trust and Reader Emeritas at St Faith, Great Crosby: Health, Wealth and Welfare: the tangled relationships between deprivation, ethnicity and health. Please book your place with the Parish Office.


PCC meeting is 23 January 2018 at 7.30 pm – Canon Jeremy Fraser Area dean and Canon Lynne Bennett Lay chair of Having deanery will be in attendance to present on Greater London Authority development money for the Deanery Building Scheme.  This has direct implications for St Bart’s so the meeting will be held there.  This is an open meeting and all are welcome – please come if at all possible.

St Bart’s DCC meeting is TODAY at 11.45 am in the Luke Room.

St Mary’s DCC meeting is 4 April 2018 at 7.30 pm in the Parish room.

St Edmunds’s DCC meeting is on 24 January 2018 at 7.30 pm.
