St Mary’s & St Bart’s A big thank you to all who came to clean the churches yesterday and helped to make them look so beautiful. A grand effort by everyone. A special thank you to Terry and Prim at St Mary’s for donating money for the hot cross buns too.

This coming week we have a couple of schools visiting St Mary’s on Tuesday and Thursday.

Norman Lipman John King visited Norman on Wednesday. Although he’s very ill, he was stable. Please keep Norman in your prayers.

June’s knee operation. All has gone well and June is now recovering with her daughter in Hertfordshire. Please keep her in your prayers.

Nominations for Office forms for Church Wardens, Parish Wardens and for PCC & DCC membership are available.  Please put completed forms back into the plastic wallet at your church.  Consider prayerfully if you are called to one of these roles, but please remember that taking on the role means a commitment to attend the majority of meetings.

APM & APCM is at St Bart’s on 28 April this year.  After the meeting we have booked lunch at the Denmark Arms.  This will be a traditional roast lunch (beef, lamb, chicken & veggie option) followed by either sticky toffee pudding or a fruit crumble and a coffee.  Cost per person is £12.  Please sign up on the sheet at the back of church if you’d like to come along, all are welcome. Please include your choice of main course and pudding.

Memorial Service for Ingegard Roberts (John’s Mother) John and his brothers invite all friends who remember their Mum to this service to be held at Bart’s on Saturday April 27th at 11am.

Bible Study Our next bible study will be on Monday 29 April at Bart’s at 2pm.

Visitation Service This year will be at 7.30pm on Wednesday 22nd May.  Church wardens are obliged to attend, it is good if PCC and DCC members attend and everyone is welcome.  There will be no Eucharist at St Mary’s on that evening.

Once again, we will be organizing a coach to go along to the National Pilgrimage at Walsingham on Monday 27th May. 

Parish Afternoon Tea Dance. Saturday 15th June 3-5pm at St Mary’s in memory of Gillian Mayer. All proceeds to Christian Aid. Please put the date in your diary for what promises to be a wonderful afternoon. Tickets available soon.

St Mary’s Yesterday June went in for her long-awaited knee operation at Newham General Hospital.  Please keep her in your prayers.

Congratulations to Michaela (Hazel Thomas’ daughter) and Sejil on their wedding which was blessed yesterday. 

Norman Lipman is unwell. Quintin gave him last rites when he visited him on Thursday.  Please keep him in your prayers.

Café News This week, as it’s half term, we will be having two showings of Mary Poppins Returns @ 10am and 1pm – all are welcome !

St Mary’s welcome for baptism today Lennie Louise Emma Harding and particularly welcome Gary and Emma back to the church where they got married.  Please keep Lennie and his family in your prayers at this important time.

We pray for Micheala and Sejil who are having a wedding blessing next Saturday.  We remember in our thoughts the whole family and in particular Hazel Thomas.

Next Sunday is Palm Sunday and the joint service will be at St Bart’s this year.  If you would be willing to read a part in the passion narrative please contact Rev Sue.  Please see insert for details of the rest of Holy Week services.

East Ham Safer Neighbourhood Team and Newham Law Enforcement meeting at St Bart’s on 3rd April at 11.15-12.45. This is your opportunity to discuss issues such as anti-social behaviour, crime and safety.  To give a rough idea of numbers, please let the office, café or Shirley Biro know if you’ll be attending.  All are welcome.

‘Pray Your Way During Lent’- continues at St. Bart’s East Ham every Tuesday to 9 April at 7.30pm.  All welcome.

Bible Study Our next bible study will be on Monday 29 April at Bart’s at 2pm.

Lent 2019 The lent course this year is on Mission. Next session 10 April 2pm at Pilgrims Way and 7pm at St Mary’s. Please note that during Lent St Bart’s Thursday Eucharist will be at 12.15 with silent prayer from 12 noon for those who desire it. 

Arrangements for Holy Week and Easter A reminder to all on the PCC that the next PCC meeting is on Tuesday 2nd April at 7.30pm at St Bart’s.  This is to receive the accounts prior to the APCM.  The auditor will be in attendance so please make an effort to be there.  The APM and APCM will on Low Sunday 28 April 2019 at St Bart’s.  This year we are planning to follow this with a Parish Lunch at the Denmark Arms.  Details to follow.
