Next Sunday 30th June is a Joint Service at St Mary’s and is John King’s first mass as a priest.  Please come along to support John, preacher is John Brown Vicar of St Luke’s Ilford.

Parish Tea Dance. We have raised a tremendous total of £881 to send to Christian Aid from various events; tea dance, jewellery making and generous donations the parish will round this amount to £1,000.  A great big thank you to St Barnabas Band, all of the helpers who prepared food and cleaned up afterwards for the tea dance.  We were blessed with donations of cake, raffle prices and money which all help boost the total amount raised.  Well done and thank you to all who both sold and bought tickets for the tea dance and raffles too.

Meeting at St Edmund’s for St Ed’s folk to begin a conversation about its future mission and ministry on Tuesday 2 July 2019 at 7.30pm.  This meeting will be facilitated by Rev Paul Regan.

Bible Study on Wednesday. Change of Time/Day. 

Everyone is welcome to join our Bible Study on Wednesday 26th June at Bart’s, in the Luke Room at 1.30pm. We are continually trying to find an optimum time for our ‘regulars’. So, if you are interested in joining us, please let Dennis at St Mary’s or Shirley at Bart’s know what would work for you.

John’s Ordination Just to say that God willing I will be ordained a priest on Saturday 29th June at All Saints, West Ham.  Unfortunately, this is ticket only, but I would love to see you all next Sunday at St Mary’s for my first Eucharist – Rev’d John.

Saturday 6 July Tea Concert with the Woodford Symphony Orchestra Ensemble at St Bart’s at 3pm.  Entrance is free, donations welcome in aid of the parish. 

Course in Christian Studies there are a number of taster evenings throughout the Diocese in June and July please see the poster at the back of church or contact the office for further details.

Deanery Confirmation at St Bart’s on Sunday 14th July at 7pm. We have three confirmation candidates from the parish – further details to follow.

If ye Love me - Choral Music for a Summer’s Evening on Saturday 20th July at 7.30pm at St Mary’s.  The Friends’ Musick chamber choir directed by Jordan Theis will be performing.  Tickets are £5 each and are available from the Parish Office or St Mary’s.

This morning, we welcome Nicola Vidamour to St Mary’s for our joint parish service. 

Norman Lipman Quintin visited Norman last week and he is making good progress and has gained a little weight.  Please keep Norman in your prayers.

Parish Outing Last chance to sign up for our Parish Outing to Southend-on-Sea on Saturday 22nd June.  We will be celebrating Eucharist at the Parish church of St John the Baptist and then sand, sea, shopping etc. Coach pick up points are – 9am at St Mary Magdalene and 9.15am at East Ham College, High Street South.  Cost will be £15 per person.  Please see the sign-up sheets at the back of Church – Rev’d John.

Norman Lipman Quintin visited Norman last week and he is much better, still quite frail but is interacting well and making good progress.

Confirmation Class will be today after the morning service at St Bart’s.  The deanery confirmation will be at St Bart’s on 14 July at 6.30pm.

Thy Kingdom Come Prayers for renewal of the church continues until next Sunday, Pentecost.  There are still some of the booklets available, please continue to pray for the mission and ministry of this parish.

National Pilgrimage at Walsingham Monday 27th May A reminder that the two pick-up points for the coach are at Newham College, High Street South at 7.30am and St Edmund’s Katherine Road at 7.45am.  We leave Walsingham at 5pm to arrive back at around 6.30-7pm.
