With Christian Aid: Give thanks for the radio on World Radio Day, 13 February and for how radio has been used to share farming techniques and advice to farmers facing a changing climate in Burkina Faso.

In the world: for a measured and thoughtful debate about the prison system and its objectives.

The funeral for Norman will be on Wednesday 26 February at 1pm at St Mary’s followed by committal at City of London Crematorium at 2.30pm.

Parish Birthdays – Happy Birthday to anyone celebrating a birthday this week.

St Mary’s Mary would like to thank everyone for the cards, gifts, food and effort that made Rose’s baptism day so special.

Rev Sue is on holiday from 8 – 15 February. Please contact Marco or another member of the clergy for pastoral matters or the Parish Office for practical matters.

St Bart’s servers and intercessors training. There will be training for existing and new servers on Sunday 16 February after the morning service and intercessors (part 2) on Sunday 1st March after the morning service. If you already have one of these ministries or are interested in starting, please come along.

Discussions following Deanery Congress Thank you all for engaging so positively with the conversion about working collaboratively with our neighbours. The next stage of the conversation is an open meeting with everyone invited from all 6 churches at St Bart’s on Thursday 27th February 7pm refreshments for a 7.30pm start.

Lent @ St.Mary Magdalene

During Lent, John and Quintin will be reflecting at the 10am service on Lenten hymns.

Ash Wednesday: Lead us heavenly Father, Lent 1/Children Talk: Forty Days and Forty Nights, Lent 2: Be Still, Lent 3: Abide with me, Lent 4/Mothering Sunday: Love Divine, Lent 5: The Old Rugged Cross.

We will also be running during Lent a first communion class

after church in the parish room. We already have some children who are interested but there is always room for others to come along. We will be studying:

1 March         Introduction and about me.

8 March         Belonging in family/school/Church

15 March       Signs of Belonging

22 March       ‘Do this in remembrance of me’/food of belonging

29 March       Prayer

5 April           Rehearsal in Church

12 April         First Communion on Easter Sunday
