In Our Prayers:

In the Diocese: The retired clergy, Readers, lay ministers who live and work in the Deanery of Harwich.

In the Anglican Communion: The diocese of Kobe, Japan

In the world: for the Stansted 15 disproportionately sentenced at Chelmsford Crown Court for a peaceful protest drawing attention to charter flights being used to deport failed asylum seekers.

With Christian Aid: Give thanks for our work in Lebanon for over 30 years. Pray for the work of our partners with those who have been twice displaced, from Palestine and then from Syria.

In the Parish: those who live in South Esk Rd, Spencer Rd, Stafford Rd.

The PCC and ministry team will be reflecting in the New Year on the most appropriate way to pray for the sick and this may result in some changes.

We particularly pray for Judith and Colin Marchant at this time with the sad loss of their daughter, Ruth.

St Mary’s Thanks to all who came along and helped to clean the Church yesterday ready for Christmas. It looks wonderful. We will be preparing the Christingles after next Sunday’s service.

CSI Carol Concert many thanks to all who performed at and attended the carol concert on Sunday.  Also, special mention to those who prepared and served the delicious meal afterwards. 

Christmas Lu

Carol singing at Hedgerow Court and Manor Farm on Christmas Eve Fr Fred and Shirley will be going to Hedgerow Court at 11am and Manor Farm at 3pm on Christmas Eve armed with Fred’s ‘Music Box’ and carol sheets. It would be really good if others could join us.  If you can, please be at either venue (or both) just before these times for easier access.

St Edmund’s Christmas Party will be on 4th January 2019. All are welcome!

On the Way new course starting in January 2019 on Tues evenings 7.30- 9pm at St John’s Stratford.  If you’d like to join, please speak to Rev Sue.

Newsletter  After next week, 23rd December, the next newsletter will be on Sunday 13th January 2019.  Please note details of the services in meantime especially that 30th December 2018 is joint service at St Mary’s and 6th January 2019 is a joint service at St Bart’s.

Save the Date Burn’s Night Friday 25th January! Once again we will be having a Parish celebration of Burn’s Night at St Bart’s. An evening of dancing, music & merriment along with a traditional supper of Haggis, neeps & tatties! Tickets £15 available at the parish office.
