St Mary’s Patronal Weekend

A great big thank you to all who helped to make yesterday such a lovely day with the cream teas and the organ recital at St Mary’s. 

Today we welcome and thank Revd. Jonathan Brown for preaching and celebrating this special occasion with us.

Please do come along to the Evensong service tonight at 6pm. All welcome.

On Wednesday at the 6.30pm service at St Mary’s we will particularly remember the soul of Eunice Johnson. 

Next Sunday at 10am we welcome the family and friends of Isaiah (Louise’s Grandson) for his baptism.  Please keep them in your prayers as they prepare for the baptism.

Les Page’s Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday 24th July.

Please hold Dorothy and the family in your prayers at this sad time.

The family would prefer charity donations, but for those who would like to send flowers, they should be sent to T Cribb and Sons, Beckton. The family has nominated two charities in memory of Les: British Heart Foundation: (https://www.bhf.org.uk/how-you-can-help/donate/give-in-memory) or For London Air Ambulance: (https://londonsairambulance.co.uk/donate) .There will also be a collection box at the funeral and afterwards.

East Ham Arts Festival 26th to 30th July.  Explore East Ham as we celebrate a rich mix of local talent and creativity.  All events are free and suitable for all ages. 2 events are being held at St Mary Magdalene. Friday 27th July 7pm “Art Amongst the Trees” in the Nature Reserve & Sunday 29th July 2-5pm “Outdoor Clay Workshop” in the Nature Reserve.

Bart’s Café News Tuesday 24 July at 1.30pm is our Stitching Group.  Bring your own project and enjoy a natter while you stitch. All are welcome.

Sunday 5th August will be a Joint Service at St Bart’s

Midweek services There will be no mid-week services during August.

Bereavement Counselling Group drop-in sessions run by MIND will be held at St Bart’s on Tuesdays from 10am to 12 noon starting on 3rd July. If you’re interested in these sessions, please come along.

Coach for John’s ordination We now have 2 seats remaining on the coach for Chelmsford on 15 September at £15 each.  If you wish to book, please contact the Parish Office.  Money now being collected.

Saturday 15 September Introductory day for the diocesan Course in Christian Studies.  If you’re interested please speak to Rev Sue.
