Finding a Christian voice in partisan politics
The Revd Dr Malcolm Brown has been Director of Mission and Public Affairs for the Archbishops’ Council since 2007, leading a team with responsibility for the Church of England’s engagement with political and social issues, Parliamentary affairs and enabling the church’s voice to be effective in national life. Prior to this, he was Principal of the Eastern Region Ministry Course in the Cambridge Theological Federation and Executive Secretary of the William Temple Foundation in Manchester, a think tank working on the connections between theology, economics and urban policy. He has also been a parish priest in inner city, city centre and suburban parishes. Malcolm’s doctoral work was on Christian ethics and market economics. He has taught ethics at undergraduate, Masters and doctoral levels for several universities and has published widely. He editedAnglican Social Theology(CHP) and published a textbook entitledTensions in Christian Ethics(SPCK, 2010) as well as contributing to many other publications.
