In Our Prayers:

In the Diocese: Pray for the members of the Guild of Servants of the Sanctuary, and the Company of Servers, and all people who serve Christ at the altar.

In the Anglican Communion: The Diocese of Yola (Jos, Nigeria)

In the world: for all of those who for whatever reason find this time of year difficult.

With Christian Aid: Pray for an end to food waste throughout the year and for all to have enough nutritious food to eat.

In the Parish: those who live in Bristol Road, Brooke Court, Brookes Ave.

Many thanks to all who have given cards and gifts to Rev Sue, Quintin, Fr Fred, Canon Ann and the parish staff, they are all much appreciated.

Many thanks to all who have helped prepare St Mary’s for Christmas, those who came along and helped prepare the Christingles, the children’s production and the flowers.

Christmas Services St Bart’s Midnight Mass 11pm, Christmas morning 10am. St Mary’s Christingle 5pm, Midnight Mass 11.30pm, Christmas morning 10am.  St Edmund’s Christmas Eve and Christmas day TBC by Fr Fred.  St Stephen’s day 11am at St Edmund’s.  St John’s day 6.30pm St Mary’s.  Holy Innocents 12.30pm at St Mary’s.  NO SERVICES AT 10AM IN THE PARISH ON SUNDAY 31ST.  8am at St Mary’s as usual then we will join with the Methodists at Pilgrims Way at 10.30am.

7th January Feast of the Epiphany normal service times.

St Mary’s both Tina Preston and Marion Foote send their regards to all at St Mary’s when Quintin visited them this week.

St Edmund’s Congratulations to John and Stephanie who got married on the 17th of October this year. John’s family has been members of St Edmund’s Church for many years. We also wish to thank them both for the contribution they made to the upkeep of St Edmund’s Church and Centre.

St Bart’s is in need of people willing to undertake Sunday and possibly week day sacristan duties.  On Sundays this entails arriving by 9.15 at the latest and setting up for the Eucharist.  Full training will be given.

St Bart’s Christmas Card thank you for the donations received so far for the Toilet Twinning https://www.toilettwinning.org.  It’s not too late to donate, please give any donations to the Parish Office when it re-opens.

St Mary’s The second performance of the Children’s nativity will take place during 5pm service TODAY.  Particular thanks to Jean for co-ordinating.

St Edmund’s Christmas Party will be on 6th January.  Tickets are now available in all churches or from the office.  £5 if bought in advance or £7 on the door – all are welcome !

St Bart’s are delighted to report that we have received a £2,000 grant from the Lyle Trust towards the refurbishment of the Hall kitchen.

Burns Night on 20 January we will be celebrating Burns Night at St Bart’s with a traditional meal, entertainment, ceilidh.  Tickets are £15 each and are on sale now !

St Barts Training for intercessors and altar servers has been arranged - so save the dates.  If you are already involved in one of these or would like to start, please come along.  Speak to Rev Sue for details.  Both are on Sundays from 11.15 to 12 noon; 7th January, 28st January.

PCC and DCC DATES.

PCC meeting is 23 January 2018 at 7.30 pm – Canon Jeremy Fraser Area dean and Canon Lyn Bennett Lay chair of Having deanery will be in attendance to present on Greater London Authority development money for the Deanery Building Scheme.  This has direct implications for St Bart’s so the meeting will be held there.  It will also be an open meeting i.e. all are welcome.

St Bart’s DCC meeting is 21 January 2018 at 11.45 am in the Luke Room.

St Mary’s DCC meeting is 10 January 2018 at 7.30 pm in the Parish room

St Edmunds’s DCC meeting is on 24 January 2018 at 7.30 pm.
