Today, we welcome Revd Canon Philip Banks, Canon Precentor at St Edmundsbury Cathedral as our preacher today.

St Mary’s Good to see Norman back in church last week after being a bit under the weather.

Calendars are available at the back of St Mary’s – priced at £7.50.

Rev Sue will be on retreat this week, but can be contacted in an emergency.

St Bart’s is in need of people willing to undertake Sunday and possibly week day sacristan duties.  On Sundays this entails arriving by 9.15 at the latest and setting up for the Eucharist.  Full training will be given.

St Bart’s Rota Draft available today at the back of the church.  Please make any alterations.  Final version (hopefully) available by email and hard copy for next week.

St Mary’s Rota is available at the back of church – please check for any glaring mistakes.  A final rota will be available next week.

East Ham Lantern Christmas parade will be on 25th November at 4pm starting at East Ham Town Hall.

Christmas Journeys in Newham with ‘Faith in Schools. St George’s will be hosting this event December 11th and 12th.  They need volunteers to be actors, stewards, and help with refreshments between 9am and 3pm each day. St Bart’s Café Dates:

Quiz night on 23rd November - £7.50 per person includes a two-course supper.

Christmas lunch is 19th December 2017 at 1pm - £10.  Tickets for the lunch are selling fast !  Book with Sue in the Café to ensure you don’t miss out.

The Greatfield Winter Market returns, with a huge array of stalls selling handmade gifts, cards, plants, jams, chutneys & pickles and more. You can have a cup of tea and (homemade) cake or lunch, and chat with your neighbours in our friendly cafe. The Market will be held on Saturday 9th December 2017 at St George and St Ethelbert's Church, Burford Road E6 3NQ between 11 am and 2 pm.

Toy Collection Point St Bart’s we will be a collection point for the Newham Recorder Toy Appeal this year. Please donate if you’re able.  Further details to follow.

St Barts Training for intercessors and altar servers has been arranged - so save the dates.  If you are already involved in one of these or would like to start, please come along.  Speak to Rev Sue for details.  Both are on Sundays from 11.15 to 12 noon; 7th January, 21st January.


PCC meeting is 23 January 2018 at 7.30 pm – venue to be confirmed.

St Bart’s DCC meeting is 26 November at 11.45 am in the Luke Room.

St Mary’s DCC meeting is 10 January 2018 at 7.30 pm in the Parish room

St Edmunds’s DCC meeting is on 24 January 2018 at 7.30 pm.
