With Christian Aid: for all those in Sierra Leone who are remembering the loss of a love one on 7 November, the 2nd anniversary of the Ebola outbreak’s end.

St Mary’s is looking forward to welcoming Aaron, his family and friends for his baptism today.

Next Sunday at St Mary’s the normal 10am service will be slightly shortened so that we can get to the war memorial in the churchyard for the Act of Rememberance at 11am.

Next Sunday at St Bart’s the normal morning worship will be at 9.15am so that we get to the Act of Rememberance at the Cenotaph in Central Park for 11am.

Many thanks to all who helped at the All Souls service last Sunday.

St Bart’s is in need of people willing to undertake Sunday and possibly week day sacristan duties.  On Sundays this entails arriving by 9.15 at the latest and setting up for the Eucharist.  Full training will be given.

St Bart’s Rota is in progress – please see Sue with any requests.

Susan Allen RIP Susan’s funeral will be at St Bart’s on 14th November at 10am with committal at City of London Crematorium at 11.30am.  Refreshments afterwards at St Bart’s.

Labour of Love Mariam, one of the knitting group at St Bart’s, has repaired 2/3rd of the hassocks (prayer cushions) and will continue until they’re all like new again !  Many thanks to Mariam.  When they’re completed we will rededicate them.

Hall Kitchen On-line voting has now opened for the Aviva Community Fund grants and we’re asking you to support us in trying to increase our grant from £200 to £1,000. Please use this link to vote for our project - https://community-fund.aviva.co.uk/voting/project/view/17-4786

if we receive the votes then we will increase our grant to £1,000 – so spread the word to friends/colleagues/neighbours !  Voting closes on 21st November.  So far, we’ve raised £1,215 – so let’s keep it going……

Barking School of Discipleship – continues to 28th November on Tuesdays 7.30pm -9.15pm Training Hub, St John’s Stratford E15 1NG. All are welcome. St Bart’s Café Dates:

Quiz night on 23rd November - £7.50 per person includes a two-course supper.

Christmas lunch is 19th December 2017 at 1pm - £10.  Tickets for the lunch are selling fast !  Book with Sue in the Café to ensure you don’t miss out.

St Barts Training for intercessors and altar servers has been arranged - so save the dates.  If you are already involved in one of these or would like to start, please come along.  Speak to Rev Sue for details.  Both are on Sundays from 11.15 to 12 noon; 7th January, 21st January.

Rectory Christmas Party Apologies, we are having some problems finding a date that works.  All the dates chosen so far have clashed.  Watch this space !

St Mary’s DCC meeting is 10 January 2018 at 7.30 pm in the Parish room
