Please keep Paul Gray in your prayers at this time as he is particularly unwell. John, Margaret Wallace’s husband, who’s ill in hospital. Susan Allen is back home now – we continue to keep her in our prayers.

Parish Birthdays – Happy Birthday to all those celebrating a birthday this week.

Flowers in St Bart’s today are in memory of May’s son Frank.

Autumn Notes this year raised £305 for Christian Aid.  Many thanks to all who participated and came along.  It was a very enjoyable afternoon.

Hall Kitchen Good news is that we have secured a £200 grant towards the kitchen refurbishment from the Aviva Community Fund.  Thanks to Ajith who took responsibility for the application.  On-line voting opens in a week and we will be asking you to support us in trying to increase the grant to £1,000.

Linda and Sue are still working hard to be the biggest loser to help boost the fund !  Please sponsor if you can.

Parish Bible Study will be held at St Bart's 4pm on Sunday 29 October.  We will study Matthew 5.1-12.  All welcome. Please bring your bible.

Barking School of Discipleship –19th September – 28th November 2017 on Tuesdays at 7.30pm -9.15pm Training Hub, St John’s Stratford E15 1NG. All are welcome, but you will need to book. For more info please contact Rev John Brown 020 8553 7606 Email:

All Souls Service will be next Sunday at St Mary’s at 6pm.  There are lists at the back of church for you to add the names of anyone you wish to be remember during the service.  Please PRINT names, today is the last day the lists will be up in Church.

St Bart’s Café Dates:

Quiz night on 23rd November - £7.50 per person includes a two course supper.

Christmas lunch is 19th December 2017 at 1pm.  Tickets for the lunch are selling fast !  Book with Sue in the Café to ensure you don’t miss out.

St Barts Training for intercessors and altar servers has been arranged - so save the dates.  If you are already involved in one of these or would like to start, please come along.  Speak to Rev Sue for details.  Both are on Sundays from 11.15 to 12 noon; 7th January, 21st January.

Rectory Christmas Party will be on Saturday 9th December at 7.30pm.  Please note change of date – all welcome.  Nearer the date we’ll ask for rough numbers.


PCC meeting is 14 November at 7.30 pm at St Bart’s.

St Bart’s DCC meeting is 26 November at 11.45 am in the Luke Room.

St Mary’s DCC meeting is 10 January 2018 at 7.30 pm in the Parish room

St Edmunds’s DCC meeting is on 24 January 2018 at 7.30 pm.
