Please keep Paul Gray in your prayers at this time as he is particularly unwell. John, Margaret Wallace’s husband, who’s ill in hospital. Susan Allen is expected to be back home very soon – we continue to keep her in our prayers.

Parish Birthdays – Happy Birthday to anyone celebrating a birthday this week.

Many thanks from Les Rowe to all who attended the service celebrating his 53rd Anniversary of service to St Bart’s last week. 

At St Bart’s we are working hard to raise funds to restore the hall kitchen to its former glory.  We have £600 raised from the barn dance, £100 from the sale of books and we now need to raise a further £1000 to buy a cooker etc. which will immediately benefit the café.  Sue in the café and Linda are doing a sponsored “lose a stone before Christmas” if you wish to sponsor them.  Any donations to the fund are more than welcome !

Today is Harvest Festival.  All donated goods will be shared between RAMP and Newham Foodbank (Bonny Downs).

Book Club Monday 9th October 2pm at St Bart’s.  We will be looking at the “Life and Poetry of George Herbert”. All are welcome.

Barking School of Discipleship –19th September – 28th November 2017 on Tuesdays at 7.30pm -9.15pm Training Hub, St John’s Stratford E15 1NG. All are welcome, but you will need to book. Autumn Notes  An evening of solos, quartets, poems and more!

14th October from 3.15pm to 5.30pm at St Bart’s.  Adults £5, Children £2, under 12 free.  All proceeds towards Christian Aid.

All Souls Service will be on 29th October 2017 this year at St Mary’s at 6pm.  There are lists at the back of church for you to add the names of anyone you wish to be remember during the service.  Please PRINT names.

St Bart’s Café Dates:

Cake sale 4th October raised a wonderful £336 for Macmillan.  Thanks to Sue and her team for organizing another lovely community event.

Me and My Music with Elwin Cockett our Archdeacon – 12 October at 7.30 pm.  Tickets available from the Café or Parish Office includes a two course supper.

St Barts Training for lesson readers, intercessors, altar servers has been arranged - so save the dates.  If you are already involved in one of these or would like to start, please come along.  Speak to Rev Sue for details.  All on Sundays from 11.15 to 12 noon; 15th October, 7th January, 21st January.

Parish Office will be closed on 19th/20th October.  Apologies for any inconvenience.

PCC meeting is 14 November at 7.30 pm at St Bart’s.

St Bart’s DCC meeting is 26 November at 11.45 am in the Luke Room.

St Mary’s DCC meeting is 10 January 2018 at 7.30 pm in the Parish room

St Edmunds’s DCC is on 24th January 2018 at 7.30 pm.
