In the world: for the people of Myanmar for an end to violence and persecution.

With Christian Aid: for Black History Month.  Give thanks for the contributions that African and Caribbean communities make to societies worldwide.

In the Parish: those who live along Tudor Road, Tyrone Road, Vicarage Lane

Please keep Paul Gray in your prayers at this time as he is particularly unwell. Susan Allen who is currently in the Royal London hospital and would welcome visitors (Ward 8C). John, Margaret Wallace’s husband, who’s ill in hospital.

Parish Birthdays – Happy Birthday to Shani Thomas

Welcome to Les Rowe and his family, to Archdeacon Elwin and to all our invited friends today.  We are celebrating Les’ 53rd Anniversary of service to St Bart’s.  Please join us for light refreshments after the service.

At St Bart’s we are working hard to raise funds to restore the hall kitchen to its former glory.  We have £600 raised from the barn dance, £100 from the sale of books and we now need to raise a further £1000 to buy a cooker etc. which will immediately benefit the café.  Sue in the café and Linda are doing a sponsored “lose a stone before Christmas” if you wish to sponsor them.  Any donations to the fund are more than welcome !

Baptism at St Mary’s  Please pray for Ewan Peckover and his family as we welcome them to St Mary’s for his baptism today.

At St Mary’s you’ll notice that the broken downpipe has now been fixed.

Sunday 8 October is Harvest Festival.  Please bring non-perishable goods (tins/dried goods/tea/coffee).  We will be supporting RAMP and Newham Foodbank (Bonny Downs).

Autumn Notes  An evening of solos, quartets, poems and more!

14th October from 3.15pm to 5.30pm at St Bart’s.  Adults £5, Children £2, under 12 free.  All proceeds towards Christian Aid.

St Bart’s Café Dates:

Thank you to everyone who came along to the Quiz night last Tuesday.  Well done to Sue and her team for making this such an enjoyable evening.

Cake sale 4th October from 11 am in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Me and My Music with Elwin Cockett our Archdeacon – 12 October at 7.30 pm.  Tickets available from the Café or Parish Office includes a two course supper.

St Barts Training for lesson readers, intercessors, altar servers has been arranged - so save the dates.  If you are already involved in one of these or would like to start, please come along.  Speak to Rev Sue for details.  All on Sundays from 11.15 to 12 noon; 15th October, 7th January, 21st January.

PCC meeting is 14 November at 7.30 pm at St Bart’s.

St Bart’s DCC meeting is 26 November at 11.45 am in the Luke Room.

St Mary’s DCC meeting is 10 January 2018 at 7.30 pm in the Parish room

St Edmunds’s DCC is on 24th January 2018 at 7.30 pm.
