PARISH BIRTHDAYS     HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Ella Griffith and David Hayes

Next week, we will welcome Kitty and Connie Sutherland for baptism. Please pray for Christopher and Jody, their parents, as they prepare for the baptisms of their children.

This week could you remember in your prayers the soul of Letty Manley whose funeral will take place this week and Gillian and all the family who are grieving at this time.

Victor and his fiancé are going to have their engagement blessed at the end of the service today. Congratulations to both of them.

The Archdeacon's Visitation Service this year is at All Saints Woodford Wells on Wednesday 10th May at 7.30pm (refreshments from 7pm). Wardens (and clergy!) are expected to attend. It is good too for PCC members to go and all are welcome. Wardens need to bring Certificates of Election and Articles of Enquiry, and Sue needs to sign them. If you haven't had yours pick them up in the office. There will be no Eucharist at St Mary's just for that evening; thank you for foregoing this for once.

Tickets are £7 (Children under 12 are £3) and are available in advance from Shirley Biro at St Bart’s, Ed Williamson at St Edmund’s and Alison McLucas at St Mary’s. Come along and dance or just enjoy the entertainment ! Sandwiches, cake and tea or coffee are included.

United Service (Newham Methodist Circuit and local Anglicans) There will be a service to mark Christian Aid Week on Sunday 14th May at 6:30pm at Pilgrims Way Church. The speaker will be Andy Campbell who is the Christian Aid Church coordinator for our part of London. All welcome.

Contact details We are trying to create an up to date Parish directory, please fill in a contact slip at the back of the church and hand it into the office or one of the clergy. Thanks to those who already did this at the APCM.

St Bart’s Informal Prayer Group

If you are unable to join us for the session, but have a prayer request, please either pin it on the prayer board or hand it to Shirley or any other member of the group. We have a busy few weeks, so date and time of the next session is to be confirmed. Watch this space !

Picturing the Parish The study day in September will look at St Matthew’s gospel through the lens of urban settings. We have been asked to take a series of photographs that express what it’s like to live in East Ham. If you’d like to get your camera out and have a go, that would be great, we can probably manage to print your photos in the office.
