St Mary’s next Sunday there will be a blessing of Isiah as a thanksgiving for his safe delivery.

Ken McGrane - Funeral 24 May 2018, City of London North Chapel.  For those who are wondering, the family have requested a Crematorium funeral. 

Mental Health Awareness Week - This will be marked at Bart’s by a stall with various resources and people to chat to about this important topic.  The café plays an important role in wellbeing by offering activities during the week to combat loneliness which often leads to poor mental health.  There is also a weekly Peer Support Group for those who need extra support for their mental health.  

Stubbers 2018 We have just one space left for the Stubbers Adventure weekend this year: 29 June to 1 July - £75 per child – open to ages 8 to 16 years old.  If you’re interested, please contact the Parish Office.

Thy Kingdom Come the Archbishops have again asked us particularly to pray for the Church during the traditional 9 days from Ascension Day to Pentecost.  Please use the morning & evening prayer booklet that was given out last week or come to one of the Officers in church.  Take a look on the Thy Kingdom Come website - www.thykingdomcome.global. 

Vocations Day on Saturday, 19th May 2018 has been cancelled.  There is an alternative day being offered on 9th June at St Paul’s Harlow Town Centre between 9.30 - 1pm. For more details, contact Martin Harris on 01279 411100.

Archdeacons Visitation Service Tuesday 22nd May at 8pm at St John the Baptist Leytonstone, 823 High Road, E11 1HH.  Church wardens both outgoing and incoming are required to attend.  It is a good idea for DCC and PCC members to attend.  All are welcome. Sunday 27th May Trinity Sunday Patronal Feast for the parish at St Edmund’s.  Further details shortly.

Walsingham National Pilgrimage We are once again running a coach from the Parish to Walsingham on Monday 28th May 2018.  First pick up is likely to be 8am return to East Ham around 7.30pm.  Cost is £20 per person.  Please book with the Parish Office.

Parish Outing to Guildford Cathedral on Saturday 23rd June.  Further details shortly.

Also on Saturday 23rd June, Pilgrims Way Church are organising a trip to see the open air Life of Christ play at the Wintershall Estate in Surrey. Leaving East Ham at 7:30am and return about 6pm. You will need to bring a packed lunch and something to sit on.  The cost, including coach travel and a ticket for the play is £35 for over 18’s, £24 under 18’s, £107 family of 4 (2 adults & 2 kids). Parish Birthdays – Happy Birthday to David Hayes & Tina Preston

I wanted to write a note of thanks to all who helped at St.Marys last Sunday. It was a traumatic and very difficult time for all concerned. The family were very grateful for all the efforts that were made to keep Ken alive as it gave time for them to come to the hospital and say their goodbyes. I performed last rites on Ken on Monday morning and he died in the afternoon. There are flowers in the church this morning in memory of Ken which have been kindly donated by Pat. I will let you know any funeral arrangements as soon as I know them. Many thanks. Quintin

Ascension Day Thursday 10 May - Mass as usual at St Bart’s at 12.30. St Mary’s will do the Eve of Ascension on Wednesday 9th at 6.30.

Archdeacons Visitation Service Tuesday 22nd May at 8pm at St John the Baptist Leytonstone, 823 High Road, E11 1HH.  Church wardens both outgoing and incoming are required to attend.  It is a good idea for DCC and PCC members to attend.  All are welcome. Walsingham National Pilgrimage We are once again running a coach from the Parish to Walsingham on Monday 28th May 2018.  First pick up is likely to be 8am return to East Ham around 7.30pm.  Cost is £20 per person.  Please book with the Parish Office.
