First Communion Class There is no First Communion class this week as Quintin is on leave.  There is a confirmation class at St Bart’s.

St Mary’s Rotas There are signup sheets for the new rota at the back of church. Please sign if you are interested in any of the duties.

Alan Robb’s funeral will take place on Tuesday 20 March 3.30pm at the City of London Crematorium. We pray for Vera and all the family at this time.

St Edmund's at 12 o'clock every Saturday throughout Lent we have a short mass followed by a soup lunch - all donations in aid of the Bishop's Lent Appeal. Everybody is welcome.

St Edmund’s Please pray for Nilah Ann Quereshie,  Adam Zaky Quereshie and  Amira  Aisha  El Messaoudi as they prepare for Baptism.

Lent Group the parish lent group continues on Wednesdays at 7.15pm in the hall at St Mary’s and at 2pm at Pilgrims Way Methodist Church.  This week – Gospel of Mark, Chapters 14-end with Sue Lucas.

Easter Card is available with details of Easter Services. Please take a copy for yourself and a couple more for friends and neighbours.  In addition to services on the card, there will be Eucharists at 8pm at St Edmund’s on Monday of Holy week, at 8pm on Tuesday of Holy Week at St Bart’s and 10am on Wednesday of Holy week at St Edmund’s also at 6.30pm at St Mary’s.  Please note there will be no 12.30pm Eucharist at St Bart’s on Maundy Thursday.

Greatfield Spring Market returns, with a huge array of stalls selling handmade gifts, cards, plants, jams, chutneys & pickles and much much more. Meet your neighbours over a nice cup of tea and (homemade) cake or lunch. The Market will be held on Saturday 24th March 2018 at St George and St Ethelbert's Church, Burford Road E6 3NQ between 11 am and 2 pm.

PCC and DCC DATES.

PCC meeting is 20 March 2018 at 7.30pm at St Edmund’s.

The PCC meeting is the Audit Meeting.  The draft annual report and accounts are ready.  There is a copy on each church noticeboard and a few hard copies are available in each church.  The PCC and DCC should have received these electronically.  Anyone can have a copy; please request an electronic copy if you can and leave the hard copies for these who aren’t able. All are welcome at the audit meeting on Tuesday to review the draft annual report and Parish accounts before the APCM, to meet the Auditor and ask any questions.  After this meeting the accounts will be finalised, signed and filed prior to the APCM.

St Mary’s DCC meeting is 4 April 2018 at 7.30 pm in the Parish room.

St Edmunds’s DCC meeting is on 24 April 2018 at 7.30 pm.

APM & APCM are on Low Sunday 8 April at St Mary’s after a shortened 10am Eucharist. The electoral roll closes TODAY 18 March. Lent Preachers@SMM - Views from the Pews.  As usual, during Lent, at St.Mary’s it is a chance to hear from some lay people about their work, life and faith; 4th Sunday in Lent 11th March – Mothering Sunday, Margaret Wallace, Passion Sunday 18th March – Sue Lucas.

St Mary’s We are celebrating Mothering Sunday and are particularly grateful to Jon’s florist for donating the daffodils at St Mary’s this morning.

First Communion Class will take place again after the service in the parish room. The theme is the Eucharist. Please note next week there is no First Communion class as Quintin is on leave.

St Edmund’s - St Patrick's Day Concert of music from Ireland by the St Barnabas Band at St Edmund's. March 17th at 7.30pm. Admission £5

St Mary’s We will also be having a series of first communion classes in the parish room immediately after the service. These will last around 15 minutes and are open to anyone.

St Mary’s We will be having a short DCC after the service to talk about the redecoration of the Church. Please bring the papers that were distributed last week.

Norman Valentine Lipman has just celebrated his 90th birthday and we will be celebrating this in the Church Hall after the service at St Mary’s today.

Lent Group the parish lent group is going to take place on Wednesdays at 7.15pm in the hall at St Mary’s and at 2pm at Pilgrims Way Methodist Church.  We will be starting this group on Wednesday - Introduction and Chapters 1-3 with Nicola Vidamour.

Café News

Quiz night on 22nd February 2018 at 7.30 pm.  Tickets are £7.50 including a two-course supper.  Book your tickets with the Parish Office or Café.

St Bart’s CSI Malayalam special Eucharistic service 11 March 2018 at 3 pm. Service will be led by Ven .Dr John Perumbalathu, Archdeacon of Barking. Sermon during the service in English with CSI choir singing Lenten/Easter hymns. Tea served afterwards. All are welcome.

PCC meeting is 27 February 2018 at 7.30pm at St Mary’s.

St Bart’s DCC meeting is 4 March 2018 at 11.45 am in the Luke Room.

St Mary’s DCC meeting is 4 April 2018 at 7.30 pm in the Parish room.

St Edmunds’s DCC meeting is on 24 April 2018 at 7.30 pm.

APM & APCM are on Low Sunday 8 April at St Mary’s after a shortened 10am Eucharist.  The roll revision notices and timetable go up today.  The revision of the roll starts in 2 weeks time.  If you are in any doubt, please check you are on the electoral roll.  Those who wish to stand for office as PCC or DCC members or as Church Officers must be on the electoral roll.  PLEASE NOTE THAT ONE COPY OF DRAFT ACCOUNTS WILL BE PUBLISHED IN EACH CHURCH BEFORE THE PCC AUDIT MEETING ON 20 MARCH 2018. If you need an individual copy, please contact the Parish Office.  All are welcome at this meeting to ask questions etc. The accounts will be finalised after this meeting when the agree accounts will be published in the same way.  Please note there will be no further copies of the accounts or management accounts for the individual churches at the APCM.
