St Mary’s this week we welcome Nevaeh-Marie and her family and friends for her baptism.  Please keep them in your prayers.

Mulled wine and mince pies at St Mary’s on 16 Dec between 10 and 1 as we prepare the church for our Christmas celebrations.  All welcome.

St Bart’s is in need of people willing to undertake Sunday and possibly week day sacristan duties.  On Sundays this entails arriving by 9.15 at the latest and setting up for the Eucharist.  Full training will be given.

E6 churches Annual Advent Walk of Witness

We will be gathering opposite East Ham Station at 4.30pm TODAY. We then process down the High Street to St Bart’s Church for a short service and Advent reflection around 5.30pm led by Pastor Salomi Sukesh & Rev Sue Lucas. We will be singing Carols at various points along the route so do bring a torch, lantern or glow stick if able. All welcome.

Parish Christmas card detailing all the Christmas services are at the back of church.  Please help yourself – and take one to give to a friend/neighbour.

St Edmund’s on Friday 8th December there will be an 11.00am eucharist to commemorate the Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

St Barts have interviewed for a new site supervisor and made an offer of employment - full details once the paperwork is completed.  Also, if you wish to contribute to Bill’s leaving gift, please let the office know.

Bible Study The next parish Bible Study will take place at St Bart's on Wednesday 6th December at 1pm.  All welcome, please bring your bible.

The Greatfield Winter Market returns, with a huge array of stalls selling handmade gifts, cards, plants, jams, chutneys & pickles and more. You can have a cup of tea and (homemade) cake or lunch, and chat with your neighbours in our friendly cafe. The Market will be held on Saturday 9th December 2017 at St George and St Ethelbert's Church, Burford Road E6 3NQ between 11 am and 2 pm.

St Edmund’s Christmas Party will be on 6th January.  Tickets are now available in all churches or from the office.  £5 if bought in advance or £7 on the door – all welcome !

Toy Collection Point St Bart’s we will be a collection point for the Newham Recorder Toy Appeal this year. Please donate if you’re able. 

St Bart’s Café Dates:

Christmas lunch is 19th December 2017 at 1pm - £10.  Tickets for the lunch are selling fast !  Book with Sue in the Café to ensure you don’t miss out.  Friday 22nd December will be freebie Friday in the Café.  Pot luck lunch to use up left overs before we close for the Christmas holidays.

St Mary’s are having a Christmas Raffle which will be drawn on 17th December.  The top prize is a £50 M&S voucher !  Tickets on sale from this Sunday in the church hall.

St Barts Training for intercessors and altar servers has been arranged - so save the dates.  If you are already involved in one of these or would like to start, please come along.  Speak to Rev Sue for details.  Both are on Sundays from 11.15 to 12 noon; 7th January, 28st January.

Christmas Journeys in Newham with ‘Faith in Schools. St George’s will be hosting this event December 11th and 12th.  They need volunteers to be actors, stewards, and help with refreshments between 9am and 3pm each day. Susan Allen RIP Susan’s funeral will be at St Bart’s on 14th November at 10am with committal at City of London Crematorium at 11.30am.  Refreshments afterwards at St Bart’s.

Hall Kitchen On-line voting has now opened for the Aviva Community Fund grants and we’re asking you to support us in trying to increase our grant from £200 to £1,000. Please use this link to vote for our project - https://community-fund.aviva.co.uk/voting/project/view/17-4786

if we receive the votes then we will increase our grant to £1,000 – so spread the word to friends/colleagues/neighbours !  Voting closes on 21st November.  So far, we’ve raised £1,385 which has enabled us to purchase the cooker and a dishwasher !  Both should be operational shortly.  Let’s keep it going……

St Mary’s is looking forward to welcoming Aaron, his family and friends for his baptism today.

Next Sunday at St Mary’s the normal 10am service will be slightly shortened so that we can get to the war memorial in the churchyard for the Act of Rememberance at 11am.

Next Sunday at St Bart’s the normal morning worship will be at 9.15am so that we get to the Act of Rememberance at the Cenotaph in Central Park for 11am.

Many thanks to all who helped at the All Souls service last Sunday.

Labour of Love Mariam, one of the knitting group at St Bart’s, has repaired 2/3rd of the hassocks (prayer cushions) and will continue until they’re all like new again !  Many thanks to Mariam.  When they’re completed we will rededicate them.
