In Our Prayers:

In the Diocese: for mothers everywhere, give thanks for their love and devotion, and pray too for the work of the MU and WI.

In the Anglican Community: The Diocese of Mexico

In the world: the victims and families of those injured in the terror attack in Westminster

With Christian Aid: give thanks and pray for Christian Aid community parternships making a difference to lives around the world.

In the Parish: those who live along: Market Street, Marlborough Road and Marlow Road.

St Edmund’s Saturdays in Lent. 11.30 Lent Reflection Mass (including the Angelus) at 12 noon. Simple lunch at 12.30 cost £1.50 in aid of the Bishop’s Lent Appeal.

Lent at St Mary’s.  During Lent, for many years at St.Marys we have had a series of talks from members of the congregation who share briefly their faith and how they see God in their work or retirement! I know from the feedback this has been greatly enjoyed.

We welcome John King who is preaching this morning. He would love feedback on his sermon for his course. Please see John.

We are celebrating Mothering Sunday today. Flowers will be handed out to all Mother’s this morning at St Mary’s. These have been very kindly donated by Jon’s Florist in Vicarage Lane who St Mary’s have a long relationship with. Thank you to them.

LENT GROUP. Focusing on the Reformation. Wednesday’s 2pm Pilgrims Way Methodist Church, 7.15pm St Mary Magdalene; 29th March: The Blessed Virgin Mary. 5th April: The King James Bible & Conclusion. All Welcome.

There will be a retiring collection for the Disasters Emergency Committee of which Christian Aid is a member, for the those affected by the famine in East Africa. The government has agreed to match donations.

Prayer Group next Sunday April 2nd at Bart’s.Everyone welcome to come to our 2nd session of open informal prayers. An opportunity to pray with others for anything on your heart. Please gather immediately after the service and join as soon as you are able if busy!

Our Parish Administrator, Brenda, is retiring on 31st March. We are having a party to send Brenda off in style on March 30th 6.00pm – 9.30pm. For catering purposes could you please let June at St Mary’s, Alison at St Edmund’s or Shirley at St Bart’s know if you are coming along. Please feel free to bring a bottle.

New Parish Administrator. We have appointed Linda Delaunay as the new Parish Administrator. Do say hello to her as she will be working alongside Brenda some afternoons this week & starting full time 3rd April.

ANNUAL MEETINGS (APM & APCM). 23rd April. The roll revision continues & closes on 2nd April. If you live in the Parish or attend church regularly, you are entitled to go on the roll and you need to be on it to stand for PCC, Church Wardens or Deanery Synod Rep. Please check! Consider prayerfully if you are called to stand for any of these roles. This year is Deanery Synod elections and under the new formula agreed by the Diocesan Synod we have 3 vacancies for Deanery Synod Reps.

PCC Pre APCM Audit Meeting. Thursday 6th April 7.30pm at St Bart’s.

Draft annual report and accounts will be available this week. All DCC members are invited as well. The whole agenda is to scrutinise report and accounts to finalise before APM/APCM.


ST BART’S ROAD CAR PARK. The barriers have been returned to the manufacturers. Please bear with us until they have been re-installed.


BART’S CAFÉ. Knitting Group. Thursday’s 10.00am – 12.00noon.

Knitters, crocheters & stitchers. All needle crafts welcome.

Quiz Night.Thursday April 20th 7.30pm. Quizmasters Timms Boys. £7.50.
