In Our Prayers:

In the Diocese: Passiontide begins Celebrating Common Prayer.

In the Anglican Community: the Diocese of Mityana (Uganda)

In the world: those affected by the famine in East Africa and those who continue to suffer in Syria.

With Christian Aid: Pray for the Christian Aid team in Ethiopia and their country manager Yitna Tekaligne. Give thanks for the hope the Ethiopia Appeal brought to those facing the worst drought in three decades last year, for the schoolchildren who were fed, and the safe drinking water and emergency supplies provided to the most vulnerable families.

In the Parish: those who live along: Masefield Gdns, Masterman Rd & Melbourne Rd.

St Edmund’s Saturdays in Lent. 11.30 Lent Reflection Mass (including the Angelus) at 12 noon. Simple lunch at 12.30 cost £1.50 in aid of the Bishop’s Lent Appeal.

Lent at St Mary’s.  During Lent, for many years at St.Marys we have had a series of talks from members of the congregation who share briefly their faith and how they see God in their work or retirement! I know from the feedback this has been greatly enjoyed.

Prayer Group TODAY at Bart’s.Everyone welcome to come to our 2nd session of open informal prayers. An opportunity to pray with others for anything on your heart. Please gather immediately after the service and join as soon as you are able if busy!

Preparing for Easter at St Mary’s. Saturday 15th April 10.00am – 12.00noon. There will be hot cross buns for all who come along to help out. If you are driving in from outside the parking zone can you let June know so she can give you a parking permit.

BYE BYE. I would like to say a BIG BIG thank you for all the gifts, cards & good wishes I have received on my retirement. A fantastic party was held for me last Thursday, It was great to see so many friends there. A big thank you to Sue & Jackie for the wonderful catering, also to Ed & May for the entertainment – Britains Got Talent next? I will miss you all but will be back to see you all soon. lots of love. ANNUAL MEETINGS (APM & APCM). 23rd April. The roll revision continues & closes on 2nd April. If you live in the Parish or attend church regularly, you are entitled to go on the roll and you need to be on it to stand for PCC, Church Wardens or Deanery Synod Rep. Please check! Consider prayerfully if you are called to stand for any of these roles. This year is Deanery Synod elections and under the new formula agreed by the Diocesan Synod we have 3 vacancies for Deanery Synod Reps.

Audit PCC on 6th April - all PCC and DCC members welcome - 7.30pm at St Bart’s.  The audited Annual Report and accounts are back - and will be circulated electronically to PCC and DCC members on Tuesday.  If you are not on PCC or DCC and would like an electronic copy please email the office.  If you do not have access to email and would like a hard copy please ring the office.
