Wedding at St Mary’s: We pray for Margaret Adesanya and Robert Cram who are preparing to get married at St Mary’s on 12th September.

The sick and suffering: Alice Singh, Les Rowe, Clarice, Paula Gray, Paul Gray, Alec Creggan, Eileen Exley, Fiona McGuiness, Jan Hibbard, Clarence Lawrence, Coraline Edwards, Mark Dorrington, Norman Lipman, Jim Harmati, Theresa Lutterodt and Julie Alade.

Please keep Paul Gray in your prayers at this time as he is particularly unwell with cancer.

St Bart’s Patronal Feast. We welcome Brother Julian to St Bart’s who is preaching for us this morning. Do join us in the hall for refreshments after the service. Everyone is welcome.

The Barn Dance on 9th September at St Bart’s is now sold out! However, we have a waiting list for returns. If you would like to be put on the list please contact the Parish Office.

Sunday 10th September St Bart’s Sunday service at the normal time of 10 a.m. St Edmund’s at 9.30 a.m. St Edmunds will return to the normal time of 10 a.m. on 17th September.

Bishop Stephen on Pilgrimage: Our Diocesan Bishop is doing what Bishops are meant to do - walking his Diocese! He’s doing it Deanery by Deanery and next Sunday (10th September) he’s in Newham.  He’s starting at St Michael in the Froude Centre and will call at St Edmund’s between 10.30 and 11 (likely to be coffee rather than worship because of the 9.30 start).  He’ll end up in Stratford around lunchtime.  Shirley has full details of his itinerary.

Book Club Monday 11th September 2pm at St Bart’s. We will be looking at the “Life and Poetry of George Herbert.” All are welcome.

Study Day Urban Matthew 21st September 2017. Reading Matthew’s Gospel in the urban context. Cost £7.50 including lunch. Please book in the café or the office. Please can you bring with you for the day photographs of our area old and new.

Parish Quiet Day 23rd September at Haggerston Priory.  If you wish to attend, please see sign-up sheets at the back of Church. If you’re able to give someone a lift, please indicate this on the list too.

Sunday 1st October is Michaelmas we are keeping this as ‘Bring a Friend’ Sunday. Please think and pray about someone you could invite to church. More details, invitations and prayer cards available shortly.

Also 1st October at St Bart’s we are honoring Les Rowe’s 53 years of ministry among us at St Bart’s. Archdeacon Elwin Cockett will make the presentation and speech.

Autumn Notes An evening of solos, quartets, poems and more!

14th October from 3.15pm to 5.30pm at St Bart’s.  Adults £5, Children £2, under 12 free.  All proceeds towards Christian Aid.
