In Our Prayers:

In the Diocese: for the staff of the Cathedral, the events to be held there and for all those visiting during the year. Also all those who volunteer.

In the Anglican Communion: The Diocese of Kuching (South East Asia)

In the world: the people of Turkey after the recent terror attacks.

With Christian Aid: all those who participate in Christian Aid events.

In the Parish: those who live along: Hollington Road, Holloway Road & Holme Road.

The sick and suffering: Alice Singh, Les Rowe, Clarice, Paula Lindborg, Paul Gray, Tony Osokoya, Alec Creggan, Valerie Colman, Eugenie Scott,Alston Harry, Margaret Greenhall, Eileen Exley, Dorothy Page,Brenda Nicholls, Julie Ålale,Zareen Choudhur, Anthonia, Peter Baker, Pat Williams & Fiona McGuiness.

Norman is back at home but a bit housebound at the moment but would welcome visitors.

Readings for 15th January 2017:

Parish Bible Study will be held at St Bart's at 4pm TODAY.  We will study John 1, verses 29-42. 

All are welcome to attend. Please bring your bible.

BART’S CAFÉ.

Me & My Music. Tuesday 24th January 7.30pm. Gillian Mayer reveals her favourite music. £7.50 for a 2 course dinner.

Study Day - 9th February - Canon Edward Carter, Canon Theologian at Chelmsford Cathedral - Just Economics?  Some theological reflections on economic justice drawing on scripture and tradition to reflect on the current situation £7.50 for the day including lunch.

Book for either of these events via Sue in the Café or the Parish Office.

Being a Parent Course. An 8 week course to help parents learn practical communication skills for everyday life & bring up confident, happy and co-operative children. A free course for parents of children aged 9-16.

Starts 26th January – 23rd March. Thursdays 10.00am – 11.45am

Men’s Health and Exercise with the British Martial Arts and Boxing Association - 8th February at St Bart’s.  Open martial arts classes from 10-30-12 and 1-30 till 3pm.  Other activities to be confirmed - all welcome (including women!)  We are running this event in conjunction with the CCG and St Bart’s Surgery.

 

St Mary’s still have some calendars left at a cost of £4. They are at the back of Church.
